Cheerleaders add some razzmatazz to Barrow Raiders opener
A GROUP of talented young dancers aged from eight to 13 will be stepping out to entertain supporters at the JF Hornby Stadium this Sunday.
Elite Dance and Fitness Studio will give an exhibition of one of their cheerleading routines when Barrow Raiders host Toronto Wolfpack for their first Betfred Championship home game of the season (kick-off 3pm).
While players take a break at the half-time interval the dozen or so troupe members will take to the field, weather permitting, and put on their best show.
Even if it rains there will be plenty of support for Barrow from them on the terraces as they cheer on Paul Crarey’s team.
Founder and principal dance teacher Hannah Kendall-White said the Dalton-based group are looking forward to putting on the first of a number of displays at the ground throughout the Championship season.
“We will do a three minute and two minute dance at at half time,” she said. “But we don’t usually dance if it rains. If it does the girls can sit in the stands to cheer them on. It should be good. It is their first performance of 2018. They are more than ready.”
The number of dancers attending matches will vary from game to game, depending on who is available.
