Loxam latest addition to Barrow Raiders squad

FORMER Royal Marine Tom Loxam has been enlisted by Barrow Raiders.

The centre or winger has signed until the end of the season after impressing coach Paul Crarey during pre-season.

Loxam has worked hard during the club’s training sessions and his availability will add further competition for starting places.

He could even come into contention for this Saturday’s opening League One opener against York City Knight’s at Craven Park.

Barrow Raiders director of rugby Andy Gaffney is delighted the talented player has agreed to join and is hoping he will shine for the club.

“I am pleased to have reached a deal with him,” he said.

“He’s a good kid who trains hard and will be a valuable member of the squad. We have given him a platform to prove himself and feel he will do just that.”

Loxam did enough during his trial spell with Crarey offering him the chance to stay with Barrow Raiders who booked a place in the Challenge Cup fourth round against old rivals Keighley Cougars, a side they defeated 48-14 in pre-season.
