Raiders take special delivery of players’ minibus

BARROW Raiders aim to be a driving force in League One this season – and they’ve got the power to go the distance.

No obstacle should be too difficult to overcome for members of the club’s travelling squad thanks to a link up Barrow Raiders have made with motor company DSG, who have sites in Barrow and Morecambe.

Barrow have just taken delivery of a super new 9-seater Renault Trafic diesel which carries the Raiders and DSG’s logos on it.

DRIVING FORCE: Left to Right – Director Paul Ballantyne, Chairman Mike Sunderland, DSG Sales Manager Will Adams and Director Leo Clarke.

Raiders chairman Mike Sunderland is happy with the partnership formed with DSG who will maintain the vehicle for free as part of the agreement.

“Our travelling lads are delighted with the 9-seater,” said Mike. “We think for all the effort they put in on and off the field they deserve to travel in a little bit of comfort.”

DSG sales manager Will Adams who handed the minibus over to the club said he was hoping to see more involvement with Barrow Raiders.

“This is the first thing we have done with them, Mike Sunderland got in contact with us and we just thought it is a good opportunity for a local company,” said Will, whose company are also involved with Dacia, major rugby league sponsors.

“I am hoping to do some product placement at the ground, because as well as Renault we also do Dacia. They are quite open to do tie-ups with rugby league clubs.”
