Furness Raiders face Roose Pioneers test

THE exciting and energetic Furness Raiders make a quick return to action when they take on Roose Pioneers at Craven Park this Wednesday (kick-off 7pm).

It’s a game the squad and coaching staff are looking forward to as the players look to continue their rugby league education.

The academy side scored a resounding 52-16 National College League victory over Bishop Burton, of Hull, in their last outing.

Hooker Blain Marwood was in sparkling form, going over for a hat-trick of tries with Jake Carter kicking seven conversions.

Head coach Darren Carter is looking forward to tomorrow’s clash, and he thanked  Roose Pioneers who answered an SOS for friendlies.

“We would really like to thank Roose,” he said. “We really need games, and Roose have come along and said they want to play us which is really good for us. I am sure it is also going to benefit Roose massively as they will hopefully get something out of it going into their season.”

Admission is £3 adults, £2 concession and £1 children, under-14s free.
